Administrative & Office Assistant

Global Counsel is recruiting for an Office Assistant to join our Admin & Operations Teams. The role would be based in London but supporting the GC team across all our offices: London, Brussels, Washington DC, Doha and Singapore.
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position within government, think tanks, corporate or consultancy. The right candidate must be able to work with limited direction and can prioritise assigned and ad hoc duties. They will have contact with senior management and require the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and in a professional manner.
The Office Assistant will report to the Operations Group Director. The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Leadership Team with diary management for internal and client meetings and travel bookings for worldwide travel.
- Work closely with the London Office Coordinator to ensure the smooth running of the office - including helping with reception duties and welcoming visitors.
- Working with the Marketing team on internal events hosted in the office – including planning and execution.
- Liaise with all our offices about restocking of supplies or other requests they may need support.
- Support the Senior Executive Assistant and Operations Group Director with ad hoc tasks.
- Be present in the office 4 days a week and be flexible to support on morning / evening events.
Skills and experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role in government, think tank, corporate or consultancy environment.
- Interest in public policy or politics, and excited to be a part of a growing business, adaptable and looking to make an impact.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- First Aid and Fire Marshall certification would be relevant, but we can also provide training.
