Associate Director, UK Politics & Policy
Global Counsel is seeking an Associate Director in our UK Politics & Policy practice. This role is based in UK and designed for a senior consultant with the personal drive, UK political insight and commercial awareness to manage the needs of an exceptional portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate for this role would have the relevant political and policymaking experience to support the team through a busy period ahead of the UK general election.
The role
- Provide expert, strategic, actionable advice and thought leadership to GC clients on the risks and opportunities arising from politics, policy and regulation.
- Tailor advice to clients ranging from the C-suite to public policy teams across the UK.
- Ensure the successful delivery of client work that will include policy analysis, guidance on political brand strategies, the development of cutting edge thought leadership and innovative approaches to public policy engagement and advocacy.
- Manage junior colleagues, providing support to a talented team in this practice area across our global offices.
- Build and maintain partnerships and relationships with a wider network of stakeholders at senior levels.
The requirements
- At least six years’ experience in a political party, parliament, within the UK government and/or private sector public policy advice at a consultancy or corporate.
- Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of the UK policy landscape and experience of navigating the UK political and legislative processes.
- A track record of effective team leadership and development.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English.
